Ukraine’s statements that the Russian Armed Forces do not observe the promised regime of silence are a lie and a provocation. This was announced on Thursday, March 10, at a briefing by the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev.
“To yesterday’s statements by the Ukrainian authorities that the promised “silence regime” by the Russian Armed Forces is allegedly not observed, as well as the alleged blocking of motor transport convoys and humanitarian cargo in a number of settlements, we responsibly declare that this is another vile lie and blatant provocation on the part of the official Kyiv,” Mizintsev said.
He added that Kyiv continues to categorically prohibit the exit of the civilian population towards the Russian Federation.
“Fully understanding the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe in the blockaded settlements, we also agreed with the additional routes proposed by the Ukrainian side. These are corridors from the city of Trostyanets and the village of Krasnopolye in the Sumy region in the Poltava direction, as well as from the city of Korosten in the Zhytomyr region to the area of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant,” Mizintsev concluded.
The day before, the headquarters of the territorial defense of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) reported that Kyiv was preparing provocations with humanitarian corridors in Mariupol and Volnovakha, exits from cities could be mined.
Russia launched an operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass on February 24 against the backdrop of escalation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified then, the goals of the special operation are also the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to him, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people.
The Russian side also emphasized that it does not hatch plans for the occupation of Ukraine, and precision strikes are carried out only on the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
