The Japanese company Line, the operator of the messenger of the same name, announced the launch of the NFT marketplace on April 13, 2022.

The LINE NFT platform was created on the basis of LINE Blockchain’s own network. Users will store assets in the BITMAX Wallet.

It is planned that at launch, more than 100 NFTs from the collections of 17 partner creators will be presented on the marketplace.

Among them is the largest Japanese entertainment conglomerate Yoshimoto Kogyo, which will offer unique videos from collaborating performers and artists.

The company will distribute some of the collectible digital items for free as part of the platform’s marketing campaign launched on March 24.

In the future, it is expected to be able to use NFTs as avatars, prizes, and other use cases in the messenger ecosystem.

Line is owned by Z Holdings, a subsidiary of SoftBank and Naver Corporation. In March, the firm announced the launch of the Dosi global NFT platform in the second quarter, which will be immediately available in 180 countries.

According to CoinPost, the platforms will operate independently of each other.

Recall that in February, Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten launched its NFT marketplace.
