Cryptocurrency exchange Binance stops supporting transactions with Visa and Mastercard cards issued in Russia. Restrictions take effect from 9 March 21:00 UTC
A Binance spokesperson told ForkLog that the restrictions only apply to the exchange’s crypto-to-fiat service. As part of P2P trading, customers can use the plastic of Russian banks. The exception is sanctioned credit organizations.
Earlier, the head of the bitcoin exchange, Changpeng Zhao, said that the platform complies with sanctions against Russia, but is not going to restrict access to the platform to persons who are not on the sanctions lists.
Recall, the company also said that they were not going to “unilaterally freeze millions of accounts of innocent users.”
