United States President Joe Biden met with UN Secretary General António Guterres and discussed the situation around Ukraine, as well as its impact on the international community. This was announced on September 21 by the press service of the White House.

“The leaders reaffirmed the strong partnership between the US and the UN. They discussed pressing issues facing the UN, including Russia’s baseless “special operation” in Ukraine, which is a clear threat to the core principles of the UN Charter, as well as its impact on the international community as a whole.

Biden also thanked Guterres for his work on the initiative to export Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea.

They also confirmed that there remains a need for global action to address the climate and food security crisis.

Earlier, on September 21, Biden announced that the West would continue to show solidarity with Ukraine. He stressed that the United States wants the end of the conflict in Ukraine, but continues to be in solidarity with it in protecting its sovereignty.

Earlier in the day, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that in fact the Russian Federation is fighting not with the Ukrainian army, but with NATO and the collective West as such. Shoigu added that a NATO satellite constellation is working against Russia in order to reconnoiter the location of units of the Russian Armed Forces.

Western countries have increased the shipment of weapons and military equipment to Kyiv against the backdrop of a special operation carried out by the Russian Federation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
