The Super Bowl is about food as much as it is about sports.
When it comes to Super Bowl parties, attendees anticipate plenty of food. Wings, pizza, chips, dips, and a variety of other fatty foods are always popular.
Google recently revealed data on some of the most popular Super Bowl food search phrases. Unsurprisingly, many individuals are looking for different wings recipes as well as a variety of different dips.
The country is evenly split between “hot wings” and “buffalo wings” when it comes to wings. The northern states on the east coast seem to prefer buffalo wings, whereas the southern states seem to prefer hot wings (although Florida and Maine both buck the trend).
However, the separation appears to be more random in the Midwest and on the West Coast. Texas is known for its buffalo wings, whereas California is known for its hot wings.
There is a lot more diversity when it comes to dips.
While buffalo chicken dip was the most popular search keyword in the majority of states, it only ranked first in 18 of them. Unsurprisingly, cheese dips were sought in a vast number of states, albeit the sort of cheese appears to vary by area. Queso dip is popular in Texas, while cheddar cheese dip is popular in Minnesota.
Oklahoma, on the other hand, is a true standout. Chocolate chip cookie dough is the most popular dip. This is not only the only state with a cookie-dip, but it’s also the only state with a dessert-themed dip at the top of the search results.
While Alaska and Hawaii may appear to be diametrically opposed, they share one thing in common: both states’ residents enjoy looking for 7 layer dip recipes.
